“but the biggest failure is to never try-”

no, this is a totally false assumption based on your own ignorance which is a result of living your whole life in Brainerd, Mini-soda

a bigger failure is to get scammed...
cuz now you’re worse off (except in terms of experience) than you were before you started
a bigger failure is a divorce, cuz’ now you’re REALLY worse off...

but...
an even bigger failure is to die without ever having lived...
without ever having had an adventure in your life...

because you were TOO afraid...

if you can’t handle Russia, how are you going to handle a Russian woman?

or, are you one of those “desperate guys” who sees some pretty pictures of Russian women and starts fantasizing about it....

is THAT what this is?

Krimster is off on a bender.   He's been there since high school.

To your questions:

Mark's wife is from Mykolaiv.   But his contacts there are dated.  John Adams, with A Foreign Affair, is also not a good choice.  Both will relieve you of your greenbacks and you will not be any closer to finding a mate.

Your first job is to ....... READ.   Here.   Begin with the essentials in the Starting Out section.  Learn the stuff 'till you understand it.  You will learn and get free advice here.  But you will have to learn who to trust and who not to.   I would suggest sitting at 2Tall's feet.   He's got a world of knowledge and has a wife who loves him whom he met in Russia.  For a more unorthodox approach, read up on ML.   He met many women before finding his wife.   (Don't trust everything he says.   He's from fricking Michigan.)

This endeavor is not a simple one.   You are essentially going on a blind date a couple of thousand miles away.  And your date may or may not understand you very well.   But the wonder of life with a woman from Eastern Europe can be magical.   Many of the guys here will tell you that.

So, dig in, get to reading.   And welcome to the forum.   We won't hold it against you living in Minnesota as long as you don't advocate for the Vikings on here.   After all, my Packers will be having them for lunch in two weeks.
Kissing girls is a goodness.  It beats the hell out of card games.  - Robert Heinlein

Welcome,

Jone has given some good advice and you’ll receive more from the other experienced members.... listen to what they say as there are lots of new members who don’t hang around long when they don’t like hearing the truth..... Actually most don’t last long, so you’ll need a thick skin, but they are generally a friendly bunch and definitely a lot less harsh than the typical FSU woman😆

I suspect you won’t get much support from members regarding tours and especially AFA. If you haven’t seen the love me documentary it will give you an idea of the scams associated with Pay per letter (PPL) sites like AFA..... link below

After you’ve been reading on the forum for a while and want to get your feet wet, as a fellow beginner a few rungs above you I’d suggest fdating.com as your first port of call......It’s where I started and is quite easy for a confident man to meet honest women and learn the basics of conversing with a FSU woman. It’s definitely a sure bet to build contacts and most of the beginner members who have travelled recently have spent time on fdating.

Don’t be scared to travel to FSU countries without the aid of tours, agencies etc... It seems men run into a lot more trouble when they use or should I say, be taken advantage of by these services. My experience on the ground was wonderful and I did it on my own like most here. I did get some help from members who were available 24/7 privately.

I lived with a Russian woman in a residential apartment block like a married couple. We cooked, cleaned and shopped together. We Socialised and met her friends and work colleagues. My neighbour invited me to his apartment almost daily when she worked and when she occasionally stayed in her apartment.  I learnt a lot from a man’s perspective about life in Russia from him.

In fact all the locals were very accommodating and even strangers went out of their way to make me feel welcome. One in particular who I met the last night is now an amazing friend and has become invaluable for my future endeavours to find the “one”. I would have never had this type of experience going on a tour....... Doing your own thing is the only way to go in my opinion, if you want the easiest path to success.

http://youtu.be/-ycfspRPloI

P.S...... Check out the Ebook on the site also. It has great content.

Welcome, dav111

Krimster is a long term married to the same Former Soviet Woman ...  guy..

Do NOT waste your money on a tour - PERIOD  - unless you'll be impressed by the 'attentions' of ladies offered free food and booze to smile at you and listen..

You are the 'food and drink' to a dying industry ...  The ladies who might be interested in you will have their own profile up on a dating site somewhere and be wondering if a guy will stop writing and get on the plane..

You'd be FAR better off, reading all our collective mistakes and creating a profile on a dating site and deciding who you'd like to see in reality - after chatting on line ...and NOT paying per letter or video chat session ..  that's for MUGS

Cut out the middle man ..Don't be a mug

You are facing many problems.
You have never been married and no children which are generally a turn off for FSU women. No moral judgement here.
You live in a rural area which is an other turn off, a big one, as many women live in big cities, and the ones who have left the countryside for cities, don't want to come back to the wild.
An other side, and that's a question, for how many time are you living alone? If you have a lonely guy used to live alone, "importing" a woman after 3 weeks of vacation and dating, to USA could be a drama and send you to the wall.
How much time are you capable to spend abroad ? (Every year)
Do you earn enough money to support this endeavor ?

Anyways between DC and AFA there is no doubt, AFA is to avoid absolutely. About DC i don't know if they are still performing good, but i found the price of a tour very high (5000$) for Ukraine. Especially considering we speak about third cities in Ukraine.
But the problem is you have no experience and no grasp (i suppose of russian), so it will be not easy.
Are you used to travel?

There is also an other problem, many men have found someone special, enough to have a crush on them, or a marriage, or the had children with them. You don't, it seems to be.
So the question is how many women have you bedded in life ?This not to be crude but to assess if you are comfortable with women, because if not, it will had additional problems.

There are many factors that makes you eligible to such big adventure or not, of course you can decide to go against any odds, but the financial and emotional cost of the adventure could bite you back severely, very hardly considering how western men are treated in the family court, not speaking about how high are your chances to be eaten alive in FSU.

Welcome to the forum dav111. For other guys the odds are for them. You've never been married. Why do you think you had bad luck with girls?

mark davis with DC-- it looks like DC has a good program thanks for your response

There is no comparison, Mark Davis at DC is immeasurably better.
Disclaimer: I am biased, I was on two podcasts with Mark.

The forum is mostly a do it yourself forum that teaches you how to
do most of these things yourself and there are plenty of skinflints
here that will do anything to save a few kopecks and they look at
the fee's that DC charges and freak out.

My over simplified description of a DC tour is basically a visit many
trip with support services on hand. You want to spend time with
many until you find one that you have mutual chemistry with.
Then you have to go back in a few months to see her exclusively
and to develop a relationship.

I visited My Angel Eyes 4 times in one year and then she came to
visit me twice, I married her and have never looked back.

The biggest problem with a tour is that they have women from 22
to 45 or so and it's difficult not to look at the young babes and that's
a serious problem. For you to be successful, you need to talk to women
who are 39 years and older.

There are a huge number of women who are 37-47 who want to be
married and they have very limited opportunities to do so. You can
travel to a place that has a large supply of thin, educated, beautiful,
loving, serious women who desire marriage and a family.

When 40 year old FSUW sees you staring at hot 27 year old women
they won't take you seriously and you absolutely need them to take
you seriously. It's nearly impossible to totally ignore a dozen hot 25
year old women who are smiling, dancing and having a good time.

You will see some other old fart, older and uglier than yourself talking
and laughing with those pretty young things and think, hey he's getting
somewhere, I could do even better. While this is happening, a beautiful
exciting, educated, thin, intelligent 41 year old woman who could be the
love of your life is watching and thinking that you are an idiot.

If there was a DC tour that they didn't have any women that were under
say 35 then the tours would have a far better success rate.

That's my opinion.

There are forum members who will act as if you are embarking on a sex
tour and others will act as if you are throwing millions away. Don't even
consider an AFA tour.

A few brief points -- mostly between the eyes !
Comments above are  generally solid ( even in Krim;s first post  :o)
Pat hits it --if  you can understand what he is getting at.
On tours -- they were past use by date a decade ago-- useless .

Ok -- from me -
What expectations do you currently have  eg  a 21yo potential playboy model ?
Why the fsu?
If you are thinking like Trenchcoat here on the forum you can get a girl on the cheap and and keep her chained barefoot to the oven when not having sex with her  then you will be looking in the wrong place. :wallbash:

Then --look at yourself -- for a start -- being afraid to go says a lot about you.You sound like a yesteryear guy who wants to order a bride from a catalogue @!
Tell us about yourself  -- Height/weight /dress style / work/hobbies/sport /family/friends /interests/financial position etc
Seriously --if you really want help and advice --it  can get right to the bones of of it if the info is here-it will save being repeatedly asked.
The price? You may not like what is said !1 BUT --it can save you a fortune !( + a stack of negative  emotions) :)

Here are a few threads to get started

1. FSUW 101

2. RWD 'Ten Commandments'
http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?topic=1740.0

3. Men of the West - Women From the East

4. How I did it and the mistakes that I made (there were plenty)

When you read these threads you will have questions, either use the search function
or come back here and ask them. When you ask questions, you will get lots of advice.
Some of it is very good and some of it is more dubious. Your job is to sift through the
advice and to take the good stuff that fits you, your personality and situation and to
ignore the rest.

Whatever you do is don't get offended.

When all is said and done, you just can't beat home cookin', man. I've literally dated women from all over the world. Married to a woman from Russia 15 years - all things considered, Star-Spangle Babes are about the best as they come. While I am very happy with my wife, there's something to be said about being married with someone who grew up in the same culture and/or society as you.

The brief description of your 'life' you gave just screams 'trouble' to me.

This reads like a troll post.

If it's serious, I'd recommend paying an experienced poster to give you a tour instead. You'll get more value for money than an agency tour...

Krim can introduce you to Moscow mafia, Jay will show you around Dnipro, Stirlitz would be great for Odesa, Maxx can give you a look-see in Georgia, UK James can entertain you in Minsk nightclubs, the Beard can get you laid in Kyiv, Bill will  give you tips (or trips) around St Petersburg, msmob and Davo have Southern Russia covered, Billy could trek back with you to Tashkent, I could show you around Central Asia and Siberia... so you'd have most of the FSU covered. Anyone here familar with the Far East?

Not that I vouch for all of these guys but it'd be more fun than an agency tour, a similar cost or less expensive, and probably more effective.

Going back many years I used to try and avoid ALL  mob ers ( that is not the forum Moby who I would definitely want to ignore) like the plague. If I heard English- I said nothing and kept my head down !
Many of these guys I would just never want to know !
Later - through a friend who worked interpreting  for many visitors I relented and met many- and heard it all-- and then some.
Often I worried for the safety of any girl that hooked up with some of these guys ! I still do !
As for actual matchmaking --not many guys would get my seal of approval.

Further to that -- going back a few years -I did do some investigations for girls( friends and friends of friends) on guys-  to  check them out--mostly is showed a pattern of lies and deceit. Guys married and living as man & wife etc /live in girlfriends/terrible life circumstances/unemployed etc etc etc   simply not what they said they were. Some who I actually spoke to and explained why I was calling were very shocked-they thought they would never be questioned !
So - anyone I would ever help needs to know my first examination would be the guys fitness overall. :)

Further to that -- going back a few years -I did do some investigations for girls (friends and friends of friends) on guys-  to  check them out--

Reminds me of story told to me by Dean of a College here in USA.

One day he was visited by a very well dressed and well spoken man from India.

The man was the cousin of a woman  who was being courted by a native of India who was on the faculty of this dean.

The man wanted a complete run-down on this suitor to determine his suitability for the cousin.

Of course, given the laws in USA and potential liabilities, the dean knew better than to say ANYTHING about the suitor.

The cousin was very disappointed, and stated that such an investigation by a trusted relative was standard practice in India, particularly among the elites.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Good post Jay,To come along and raise my support to the women like Nino it is true that more
i am into the FSU dating and more i realize that there are tons of men who have serious issues and consider that the order your bride will save them to explore and solve their issues.

I came to the conclusion that the function of the MOB is, like vultures, to clean the society of those guys who needs to give themselves a serious examination.
It's not necessary to save them, BECAUSE, whatever happens they don't want anyone to contradicts any of their fantasies.

Although there was an intended element of humor in my post, the point I was making is that there is likely to be more value in "buddying up" with someone experienced here than going to an agency. (of course that doesn't apply to all here)

I haven't come across people in the MOB, but as a general rule, when in the FSU if I come across either police or foreigners I turn and head in another direction. Avoiding both is generally a good idea.

I haven't come across people in the MOB, but as a general rule, when in the FSU if I come across either police or foreigners I turn and head in another direction. Avoiding both is generally a good idea.

I did  realise the "humour" angle !!    But -- as you go on to say there is potential merit in the concept --which is why I gave a serious answer.
Over time --contacts made on the forum have become real life contacts . I have met numerous actual people in real life  and introduced others to people I know -- and vice versa. So it does happen-- even to the extent of a now married couple.

btw -- you did not include yourself as a referee ! :)

Yes I did (Central Asia/Sibera), but my rates are beyond the budget of most guys even though it would be a unique tour. :)

I think if we look at Dav there is no reason to suspect a troll post, it reads seriously and straight forward enough without any slant. I know we get a few one time only messages on here and that's a shame. I do wonder what guys like Dav do with the info, whether they follow it or it is too much info for them to handle at once. Or if maybe a guy like Dav might take the advice and end up on Fdating as another keyboard Romeo. I'm guessing a guy who describe as himself as he has might fit the bill of a guy who just writes but never visits. I think that is a real Shane for both concerned. At his age Dav should realise that he should try an experience life as time will come when he is too old to do so.

I think Dav's main problem is his age and he's reluctance explore much further than his back yard as it appears. I say his age as on a tour while he would be in a group of guys with similar ages the younger girls wont take him seriously or take advantage of him should he fall for them as many of those guys his age on tour do, younger ones as well of course. I think though if Dav looks at the other options and still prefers tours he should maybe go for one but see it more for gaining experience than anything else. He can do more tours or he's own thing later. The one thing that a tour will tend to do is keep the guy safe enough. If he does he's own thing and messes up abroad either with the travelling or in meeting the girl all sorts could happen to the guy. He could end up stranding himself or the girl could leave him stranded in the middle of nowhere for example. If he is the way he is coming across at least he will have tour reps etc and a parce the parcel style trip to get him there and back ok.

I think FSW probably come up against a lot of guys who fall short in one way or another, it's why a lot of guys end up there. Some guys like Jay found out aren't straight up and just using the girls for sex. Some guys might figure that for a lot of the FSW that are left that is all they are good for as they just want to take the guy for a ride, for money, for stuff and for immigration. I think Dav needs to look at himself and be honest with himself. He could find a genuine girl 40 ish plus out there who is ok looking, not a model but someone who he finds attractive enough and had chemistry with. I would say to the guy to just get out there however he feels comfortable and just look to gain experience to begin with.

RWD Reality Check Test

Money: 0/+1. Enough to travel but possibly not enough to support a wife.
Language: -1. No exposure to the culture and requiring help from an agency.
Time: +1. Sounds like he can travel.
Physical: -1/0. My guess is he's entranced by eye candy and not realistic.
Personality: 0. Single at 57 living in the back of Minnesota and looking at an agency tour? Hmm...

Score: between -1/+1.

rwd123 take his debility test and make his debility conclusion, but seems topic-starter disappeared from such helpers :)
Sounds like

you make fabrication of fantasy
With such debill (silly and unpolite) mind I doubt you can make conclusion about me and to whom I made for
Seems the aim of forum users to get someone away from search pouring with a lot of fake information
everyone deserve to be happy the way he want, and even he have + at some point or - its anyway he or she have all chances, its just a way of thinking and doing
