Kammy was a mediocre to bad candidate, she said a lot of stupid things so 
people who hated Trump stayed home. She only ran against Trump being a
lunatic. She came up with stuff like price controls, unrealized gains, tax
increases and things nobody (except the nutjob left) likes.

Team Biden was very unpopular, Kammy promised more of the same. Same people knew that Trump isn't Hitler so a lot of people stayed home.

I think that was essentially the situation. Kamala was never really of leadership calibre. In theory anyone could be put up to lead a nation and lead it but there is a difference between being led by someone who is a leader type of person and someone who isn't. Kamala hoped to win through putting together enough ethic voter blocks in the swing states to see her through to the White House. In the end she ultimately failed in that, she could have triumphed through such an approach but she failed. Why? Because she didn't have enough leadership ability to galvanise the ethnic voter base there. It was an easy enough ball for her to bat but she failed at even that.

So overall Trump's leadership persona won out over Kamala's ethnic voting block strategy. The US electorate decided they wanted a leader type of person in the top job as it so often favours.

I don't think the Dems really had a good candidate to go with this time and so would probably have failed whatever. Michelle Obama was a possibility but she didn't want to know, neither did Nancy Pelosi in her advancing years. Pelosi today has been critical of Biden for not stepping aside sooner for Kamala but if anything a longer run up would have probably been even worse for Kamala since as polls show she was polling strongly at first then fell away. Sure polls normally narrow nearer to Election Day but she just wasn't able to enthuse voters enough after her initial launch burst. At that time a lot of the media were behind her but that fell away as tine drew on.

A lot of the problem with Vice Presidents running for President I think is so often they are assistant rather than leadership types. It can vary but I think Kamala being pretty much crowned the Democrats Vice Presidential nominee without a competition wasn't great. Always tends to get a mistake when someone is crowned a leader whatever country you're in as they haven't gone through the competition to prove they really are a leader.

End of the day though, someone has to win and so invariably someone has to lose.

Kamala just couldn't transform herself into the candidate and position she needed to be in. She just didn't jettison enough of Biden administration and strike out to alay voters concerns over issues that concerned them that she seemed on the opposite side of the fence with them about and that was with some of her key ethnic voting blocks it seemed in sine if the swing states.

So overall she just didn't have it. Trump ran a strong campaign and resonated with voters. He had Musk on his side and yes no doubt a lot of money and influence that comes with that.

Anyway, it's all done now so it's time to move on. Trump will have four years to chose to do what he wants with only Congress and the Supreme Court to check his moves if they so wish. The World will go the way the World goes as a result and we will just have to accept that.

In theory the next Presidential Race is in 2028. Trump will have served his two terms for that and will be too old anyway to go on any longer. So Republicans pick for 2028, I reckon probably Vancey pants will be the likely choice. Getting the Vice Presidents position has propelled him into being a contender and he potentially doesn't seem too much like an assistant and not a leader but we shall see. Possibly any off Trump's children may stand but I think that is less of a possibility, I don't think they are seen as necessarily the political types. The usual Republican contenders will either be getting too old by then or potentially not up to it.

Democrats I don't know. I don't follow US politics that closely but from what I see at the moment they are lacking candidates that seem to have that level of leadership ability and stature for the job of US President. Potentially I can see the Democrats losing the White House Race again in 2028 unless they can find someone and/or the Trump administration prove themselves to be very unpopular.
